Lead Research Scientist

Position: Lead Research Scientist
Location: Ridgefield, CT (Onsite)
Overview:
This role is pivotal in advancing the discovery of innovative biologically active compounds within the eTeam's project pipelines. A solid understanding of the drug development lifecycle, alongside expertise in solid-state chemistry, process chemistry, and chemical engineering principles, is essential for success in this position. The selected candidate will work closely with their supervisor and colleagues in various development teams to conduct solid form identification and development according to project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and finalize routine and exploratory experiments with minimal supervision; Stay updated on relevant scientific literature and technological advancements.
- Begin to cultivate an understanding of API development challenges within the designated area.
- Identify opportunities for enhancement and assist in implementing necessary changes; Integrate cutting-edge technologies into research initiatives.
- Effectively communicate findings in both oral and written formats in alignment with team objectives; Prepare and review technical documentation; Present work responsibly and accurately during group meetings.
- Demonstrate effective collaboration skills and engage positively in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Contribute to the training of scientists interested in the area of expertise.
- Maintain comprehensive records (electronic notebooks, binders, etc.) in accordance with standard operating procedures and policies, ensuring that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Oversee all facets of laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
For Scientist II-IV:
A Master's Degree with 0-6+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 0-10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines, coupled with 0-4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or relevant research experience in drug substance or drug product process development, chemical engineering, or related fields.
Common Requirements:
- Proficient in independently conducting hands-on activities related to solid form screening and development, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and apparatuses effectively.
- Strong motivation to explore and implement new technologies and concepts.
- Capability to work autonomously while fostering a strong team spirit within collaborative groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in solid-state chemistry and process chemistry. Previous experience with solid form, polymorphism, or crystallization development is advantageous.
Educational Background:
- A Master's Degree with 0-6+ years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 0-10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related fields, along with 0-4 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related research areas.
