Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator for Diabetic Care Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and experience in diabetes education.

About the Role

The Registered Nurse Clinical Educator II (RNCE) will be responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating clinical opportunities and strategies for improving delivery of diabetic patient care and staff education regarding such. This role will also involve acting as a liaison with all multi-disciplinary departments and services concerning diabetes education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide diabetes education for patients and their families on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
  • Assess and plan clinical opportunities for improving diabetic patient care and staff education.
  • Coordinate and implement diabetes education programs and materials.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of diabetes education programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited RN program.
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a clinical nurse, preferably in a diabetes-related setting.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications

Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) certification is preferred. If not certified at the time of hire, successful completion of the CDE exam within two years of hire/transfer date is required to remain in the position.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
