Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Diabetes Care Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time opportunity that requires a minimum of three years of clinical RN experience and expertise in managing the care of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Medical Center is a 178-bed facility located in the South Texas Medical Center, providing high-level care through compassionate hands, experienced physicians, and advanced technology. Our services include Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, cardiology, diabetes care, emergency care, general surgery, kidney transplantation, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation, Senior Behavioral Health Center, urology, and Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide diabetes education for patients and their families on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
  • Act as a liaison with multi-disciplinary departments and services concerning diabetes education.
  • Evaluate and improve the delivery of diabetic patient care and staff education.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Graduate degree from an accredited RN program.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical RN experience, with a focus on managing patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred.
  • A current Texas RN license and Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) certification or ability to obtain within two years of hire.
Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year
