Job Summary:

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to oversee the preparation and production of food in a specific area of the Food Service Department. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supervising a food service outlet and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist in the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring they are fresh and prepared in a timely fashion.
  • Schedule employees and production of food items according to projected attendance, minimizing waste and meeting food cost targets.
  • Order food materials and supplies to meet projected demand, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Train staff in production and presentation of products, maintaining recipe books and training logs.
  • Develop new recipes for special events and the restaurant, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting any issues or concerns to management.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities, adhering to Universal Orlando's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory Chef position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Food Manager Certification required, Chef apprentice preferred.
