Asset Management Coordinator

Location: Fremont, CA, Onsite

Employment Type: Contract

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in ServiceNow and MS Office 365, along with basic Desktop Technician skills. The primary focus of this role is to maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets including laptops, desktops, and peripherals. While technical knowledge is beneficial, the core responsibility is ensuring precise inventory management.

This position is centered around asset management, and while experience with DSS technology is advantageous, direct support for user issues is not a requirement.

  • Ensure accountability for assets within stockroom environments.
  • Maintain accurate IT Asset Management (ITAM) records, including states and substates.
  • Receive and update new inventory entries in the ITAM system.
  • Oversee the decommissioning process for retired assets.
  • Conduct regular security audits in collaboration with Physical Security teams.
  • Ensure the stockroom is organized and clean.
  • Manage both daily operations and long-term strategies for hardware and software.
  • Facilitate asset discovery processes.
  • Generate reports on key performance metrics.
  • Oversee the asset lifecycle management.
  • Track usage of IT assets effectively.
  • Monitor hardware and software utilization, including licensing compliance.
  • Manage records of IT assets and their usage statistics.
  • Track warranty expirations (EOL/EOS) and associated costs.
  • Ensure compliance with vendor contracts regarding hardware and software.
  • Maintain a reporting schedule to provide KPI and metric information as required by management.
  • Engage in various projects and provide support as necessary.
  • Manage the inventory of Configuration Items (CIs) and assets, ensuring accurate documentation of any changes.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of hardware and software models from introduction to end-of-life.
  • Supervise compliance audit activities.
  • Continuously seek improvements for process efficiency.
  • Participate in additional IT asset management processes as needed.
