Position Overview

The Event Service Attendant plays a crucial role in providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests during various banquet functions. This position is integral to maintaining the high standards of guest satisfaction that Sonesta International Hotels is known for.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout events.
  • Deliver food and beverage services in alignment with hotel and banquet standards.
  • Prepare action stations and assist in cooking and serving in accordance with the head chef's guidelines.
  • Set up and maintain buffet displays, ensuring food levels are consistently replenished.
  • Engage with guests to identify dietary restrictions and preferences, communicating these to the appropriate banquet staff.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for brewing coffee and tea.
  • Understand seating arrangements and serving protocols for plated events.
  • Complete all assigned side duties, including post-event cleanup and organization of work areas.
  • Participate in pre-shift and post-shift meetings with banquet management.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored properly and maintained in a clean condition.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues and contribute to a respectful work environment.
  • Support team efforts and promote a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Deliver enthusiastic and attentive service to guests, recognizing their individual needs.
  • Adhere to the GUEST service model, which includes greeting guests warmly, anticipating their needs, resolving issues, and expressing gratitude.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests and team members.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Availability for various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic understanding of event layouts and seating arrangements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Valid food service certifications as required.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical tasks.
