Position Summary

Proof of the Pudding (POP) is dedicated to delivering exceptional food and beverage services at the Georgia International Convention Center. We provide high-quality catering and concessions for various events, including meetings, conventions, and special occasions. Our facility features a cutting-edge culinary arts center and one of the largest ballrooms in the region.

As a Banquet Server, you will play a vital role in ensuring a memorable experience for our guests. We are looking for professional, organized, and knowledgeable individuals to support our Front of House operations during events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up tables according to specified layouts and examples.
  • Assist in arranging buffet stations, including decorative elements.
  • Serve and clear food and beverages efficiently and discreetly, adhering to proper techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas and collaborate with the banquet captain to ensure excellent service.
  • Manage time effectively during events.
  • Help with inventory management and the setup and breakdown of events.
  • Report to the Banquet Captain and complete assigned tasks to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Exhibit good grooming and personal hygiene standards.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:
  • Minimum of 1 year in banquet or Front of House roles.
  • Experience in high-volume catering is preferred.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong listening and communication abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and a quick learning aptitude.
Work Environment

This role primarily operates within the Georgia International Convention Center, with potential travel to other venues in the Metro Atlanta area. Responsibilities include event attendance, preparation, setup, and breakdown.

Uniform Guidelines

Compliance with Company Uniform Standards as outlined in the Associate Handbook is required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate event spaces.
  • Capability to bend, lift, scoop, and carry various equipment and food items.
  • Physical strength to lift approximately 30 lbs.
