Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Operations Manager to join our team at Micro Center. As a key member of our Computer Service Repair Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and ensuring the efficient operation of our service repair department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to our Computer Service Repair Department and Knowledge Bar associates, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to excel in their roles.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure parts orders and returns are executed accurately and within timeframes specified, and manage inventory turns, obsolescence, and markdowns with Service Purchasing.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customer service standards are met and that difficult customer situations are handled courteously and professionally.
  • Performance Management: Drive performance of the Service Department to meet or exceed established focus goals for customer satisfaction, productivity, income, and operational efficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Responsible for vendor relationship management, including parts cost, margin, and service level agreements.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for creating vendor profit and loss statements.
  • Staffing and Training: Participate in staffing, orientation, and training activities in the store, and assist with scheduling to ensure proper coverage.
  • Technical Certification: Maintain the technical certification level of the shop to ensure proper service and repair of products.
  • Facility Maintenance: Responsible for the look and feel of the parts room and any facility maintenance of the Service Department.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's or bachelor's degree from a college or technical school preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of related supervisory or management experience in a service facility, retail service department, or tech support environment, with A+ and Apple certifications required within 120 days of hire.
  • Communication and Language Skills: Ability to communicate professionally, handle multiple customers and projects at once, and read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations.
  • Reasoning and Mathematical: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts of basic algebra, and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods.
