Assistant Regional Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Director Assistant to join our team at the Anti-Defamation League. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing assigned programs in the region, including investigative research, inter-faith and multi-cultural outreach, law enforcement training, civil rights, discrimination complaint responses, Jewish Institutional security training, leadership development, public relations, events planning, social media, and fund-raising.
Key Responsibilities- Government Affairs: Participate in government affairs activities, maintaining regular contact with state, local, and national officials, and advocate for ADL issues in the state and local legislature.
- Program Management: Receive and conduct initial investigation of complaints of discrimination, antisemitic incidents, and other civil rights issues, and resolve complaints or refer to senior staff as necessary.
- Community Outreach: Develop community relationships and network with other community groups to facilitate effective community action, and represent ADL by speaking to school and student groups and law enforcement agencies.
- Communication: Respond to inquiries from members of the public, demonstrating a working knowledge of ADL's policies and positions, and assist the Regional Director to respond to inquiries from the press.
- Event Planning: Assist in the planning and coordination of special events, board retreats, and regular board meetings, and undertake all necessary details of event logistics.
- Financial Management: Manage regional office budget expenses, process check requests, prepare and follow up on invoices and billing of outside vendors and consultants, and establish and maintain financial databases as appropriate.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Several years of progressively responsible government relations, community service, or related field experience, including program management experience.
- Skills: Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills, proven ability to work with and influence a wide variety of people, proven diplomatic and conflict resolution skills, strong public speaking and writing skills, ability to multi-task, good analytical and problem-solving skills, and basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
