Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our Property Manager and assist with various tasks related to office operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, applicants, and vendors
  • Answer and direct phone calls, greet guests, and assist with sign-in and seating
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and emergencies, process outgoing mail, and deliver mail to the post office
  • Assist with data entry tasks, including entering applications and scheduling interviews
  • Help maintain and organize general office files, including resident records and correspondence
  • Assist with typing leases and completing move-in packets
  • Enter meter readings on a quarterly basis and deliver mail to appropriate departments
  • Assist with rent collection, bank deposits, and receipt preparation
  • Support the Property Manager with various administrative tasks and duties
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and one to two years of experience in office administration, reception, or data entry
  • Associates degree in business administration or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word
  • Valid state identification or driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to sit frequently and may occasionally walk or stand. The position involves physical agility requirements, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, and manual dexterity. Standard vision and hearing requirements apply.
