Position Overview:
The 988 Behavioral Intake Counselor (BIC) role at Optum is a master's level clinical position within the 24/7 Access and Crisis Line. This essential service provides complimentary, confidential access to mental health resources and crisis support for the residents of San Diego County.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly assess calls/chats for safety and performance metrics

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or doctorate in a relevant human services field

  • Proficiency in Spanish is required
Preferred Skills:
  • ASIST Certification
  • Specialized certifications in relevant areas
  • Experience in community mental health and substance use
  • Background in call center operations
  • Understanding of managed care principles
