Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at Seneca Family of Agencies. As a Crisis Counselor, you will provide critical support to youth and families in need, working closely with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver crisis intervention services in San Francisco and surrounding areas.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 2pm-10pm, with a starting salary of $27.96 per hour, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis management and intervention services to youth referred by the San Francisco child welfare system, San Francisco's Department of Public Health, and other partner agencies.
  • Complete risk assessments, crisis counseling, and create behavioral plans and safety plans in collaboration with youth, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in treatment reviews, family team meetings, and program staff meetings to ensure comprehensive support for youth and families.
  • Document services provided in a timely and satisfactory manner, as identified by supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members, including child welfare workers, caregivers, school staff, therapists, and case managers, to ensure seamless support for youth and families.
  • Participate in weekly individual supervision and group supervision to expand skills and receive ongoing coaching and support.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with applicable experience working with youth or families in the social services field.
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to cultural competency and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Valid California driver's license and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 9 months to 1-year experience working with children with mental health needs in out-of-home care.
  • Bilingual Spanish or Cantonese skill set.
