Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated stress engineer and FEA expert proficient in ANSYS software packages. This position offers the flexibility of remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

The business model at Rand Simulation emphasizes collaboration, merging the structural analysis capabilities of our FEA specialists with the design insights of our clients. Our aim is to act as an extension of our clients' teams, providing significant performance insights through simulation to facilitate informed design choices.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with clients to leverage FEA insights for enhancing product structural performance and suitability.
  • Leading specific projects, managing simulations for clients.
  • Documenting and contextualizing simulation outcomes, delivering comprehensive analysis reports, and recommending design modifications based on findings.
  • Keeping abreast of ANSYS platforms and enhancing personal knowledge of ANSYS tools through training and self-education.
  • Working with Rand Simulation sales and business development teams to ensure proper application fit for ANSYS software and simulation consulting opportunities.
  • Leading technical discussions during calls and presentations with prospects regarding ANSYS software and consulting sales opportunities, providing expert guidance and outlining implementation strategies.
  • Occasionally conducting training sessions, mentoring, and providing technical support to assist clients in maximizing their ANSYS technology investments.
  • Facilitating consulting design review meetings to guide critical design decisions.
  • Creating and delivering tailored training programs for clients utilizing ANSYS FEA solutions.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000
  • On-target earnings: $115,000 - $125,000

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical or structural engineering/design.
  • At least 4 years of experience in FEA/structural analysis using ANSYS Mechanical.
  • Experience with LS-Dyna, Ansys Motion, Adams, or similar Multibody Dynamics tools is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with nCode or other specialized fatigue analysis software is a plus.
  • Proficient in various structural analysis methods including rigid body dynamics, transient analyses, and nonlinear static/transient methods.
  • Experience with multiphysics, fatigue, and explicit dynamics is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of MAPDL and/or Python coding is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of FEA principles such as linear algebra and partial differential equations.
  • Extensive experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conducting webinars and presentations.
  • Logical problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Self-motivated with a dynamic personality and strong energy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working directly with clients, articulating findings and design recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to work independently when necessary while knowing when to seek assistance.
  • Highly developed learning and analytical skills with direct client-facing experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
