Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated stress engineer and FEA expert proficient in ANSYS software packages. This position is designed to be remote, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

At Rand Simulation, we utilize a collaborative model that merges the structural analysis skills of our FEA specialists with the design capabilities of our clients. Our mission is to empower our clients with significant performance insights through simulation, enabling informed design choices.

  • Collaborate with clients to leverage FEA insights for enhancing product structural performance and suitability.
  • Lead specific projects, managing simulations on behalf of clients.
  • Document and interpret simulation outcomes for clients, providing comprehensive analysis reports and suggesting design modifications based on findings.
  • Stay current with ANSYS platforms and enhance your knowledge of ANSYS tools through training and self-directed learning.
  • Work closely with Rand Simulation sales and business development teams to ensure the proper application of ANSYS software and simulation consulting opportunities.
  • Facilitate technical discussions during calls and presentations with prospects, offering expert guidance and outlining implementation strategies.
  • Occasionally conduct training sessions, mentoring, and technical support to assist clients in maximizing their ANSYS technology investments.
  • Lead design review meetings to provide strategic guidance on critical design choices.
  • Develop and implement tailored training programs for clients utilizing ANSYS FEA solutions.

Compensation Package

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000
  • On-target earnings: $115,000 - $125,000

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical or structural engineering/design.
  • At least 4 years of experience in FEA/structural analysis using ANSYS Mechanical.
  • Experience with LS-Dyna, Ansys Motion, or similar Multibody Dynamics tools is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with fatigue analysis software such as nCode is preferred.
  • Experience with other structural analysis tools like Altair, FEMAP/NX, or COMSOL is a plus.
  • Proficient in various structural analysis methods, including rigid body dynamics and nonlinear static/transient analyses.
  • Knowledge of multiphysics, fatigue, and explicit dynamics is strongly desired.
  • Experience with MAPDL and/or Python programming is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of FEA principles, including linear algebra and partial differential equations.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD systems, preferably Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conducting webinars and presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a dynamic personality and high energy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working directly with clients and articulating findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek assistance.
  • Strong learning and analytical skills with direct client-facing experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
