About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Scientific Research Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our scientists and engineers in their research and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of research projects, including generating, revising, and updating program code.
  • Provide integration and test support for various programming tasks, including debugging and writing business, scientific, or software computer programs.
  • Develop flow charts and diagrams outlining process steps in operation, and prepare documentation of program development, modifications to code, and operating instructions.
  • Conduct program tests and analyze system capabilities to resolve input/output problems.
  • Research, design, develop, and verify signal and image collection systems, and define and develop processing and dissemination computer algorithms.
  • Develop requirements analysis, system architecture, and integrate new signal and image capture and processing technology systems.
  • Design, develop, and analyze systems for the extraction of information from sensors, and implement signal and image processing with advanced computer architectures.
  • Develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse data sets, including structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop software programs, algorithms, dashboards, information tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate, and evaluate datasets.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or higher in physical sciences, computer science, data science, or mathematics.
  • Experience with scientific programming in Python, C, C++, or similar languages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
  • Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required to meet position eligibility.
  • Successful passage of a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required to meet position eligibility.
