About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team at Arete, a company at the forefront of innovative solutions for complex security challenges. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting research and developing activities focused on passive and active RF sensor technology exploitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop novel solutions, significant enhancements, and efficient implementations of signal processing algorithms for challenging mission applications.
  • Research, design, and implement advanced signal processing and RF system concepts that yield new capabilities addressing urgent customer needs.
  • Implement prototype solutions in software, utilizing the latest data exploitation techniques, including machine learning techniques.
  • Develop simulations and performance models that enable trade studies for radar systems.
  • Technically support radar initiatives in multiple Business Areas across the company.
Requirements
  • PhD degree program in physics, mathematics, or a related field, or several years of relevant experience.
  • Radar systems development experience, including signal and image processing, detection/estimation theory, algorithm development, software development, data analysis, and modeling and simulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAR image formation, algorithms, and exploitation concepts.
  • Experience developing novel waveforms and associated signal processing algorithms.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning.
What We Offer

Arete offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $165,000, as well as a range of benefits, including generous PTO and leave times, flextime scheduling, and a 401K retirement plan contribution.
