Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable processes from invoice entry to payment execution.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including billing and payment collection.
  • Conduct job costing for government contracts.
  • Perform daily accounting for cash deposits.
  • Execute monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Handle payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
  • Conduct advanced general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and updates to forecasting schedules.
  • Participate in the closing process and cycle.
  • Master budgeting and forecasting, identifying potential concerns.
  • Provide financial reporting as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of indirect rates and basic pricing strategies.
  • Organize and manage vendor and accounting documentation.
  • Prepare and update weekly spreadsheets.
  • Research inquiries and respond to information requests.
  • Monitor cash flow according to client requirements.
  • Ensure deliverables are met and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Support clients with accurate, compliant, and cost-effective accounting services.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff.
  • Complete tasks and deliverables with some oversight.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience required, including full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, job costing, financial statements, bank reconciliations, and monthly closing.
  • Proficiency in general ledger management, job costing, and GAAP compliance is essential.
  • Highly organized with meticulous record-keeping and file management skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities with varying levels of complexity.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Understanding of government contracting, including familiarity with FAR, DCAA compliance, and indirect rate structures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and take initiative.
  • Proficient in accounting software as necessary.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
