Hourly Rate: $19-21/hour plus comprehensive benefits package


Fairway Construction Co., Inc. was founded in 1984 to provide construction services for JES Holdings, LLC. Throughout the years, Fairway Construction’s expertise has grown from building affordable multi-family housing communities to include the construction of skilled nursing care centers, the rehabilitation of historic properties and conventional senior memory care facilities. Due to our reputation for consistently completing quality developments on time and within budget, FWC has expanded to add third-party construction developments and provides project management and consulting services for numerous developers. FWC offers a wide range of services to assist our clients from pre-construction through completion.


Position Summary/Purpose:

Processes invoices, and issue payments to meet payment deadlines. Works with all Project, Staff Accountants to resolve any issues that surface during the preparation of monthly financial statements.

Essential Functions:

  1. Enter incoming direct cost invoices into accounting software.
  2. Conduct weekly check runs and run aging reports to ensure invoices are paid by the due date.
  3. Reconcile month end vendor statements and contact for any outstanding invoices.
  4. Communicate with internal and external customers in a timely and courteous manner regarding payment issues.
  5. Collect and verify that documentation has been received for payments to be released including Subcontractor lien waivers, Sub-tier lien waivers, Affidavits and Certified Payroll reports.
  6. Assist staff accountant with the organization of investor/state agency documentation.
  7. Work with accounting team to resolve any issues or questions.
  8. File/Scan information accurately for future reference.
  9. Other related duties as determined from time to time and communicated with the employee.


Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of Accounts Payable Practices - Intermediate
    • Data Entry Experience-Intermediate
    • Computer and 10 key skills-MS Office, intermediate
    • Skill in Excel; Sage accounting software experience preferred; Procore- Construction Software experience- preferred
    • Customer service skills - Advanced
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure-Advanced
    • Attention to detail/mistake free work-Advanced


Minimum Education/Equivalent Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent experience consisting of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2-year work experience in a high volume Accounts Payable experience, prior payables experience in construction industry a plus.
