Position Overview

The Plant Operations Supervisor is responsible for orchestrating and managing the daily functions of the facility, ensuring that production output and quality standards are met within established timelines. This role is critical as it involves safety-sensitive tasks that impact the well-being of employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizes and directs daily operational activities related to production.
  • Evaluates productivity through performance metrics, financial reports, and operational data.
  • Collaborates with departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to facilitate efficient production processes.
  • Manages shipping and receiving operations.
  • Assists in the preparation of operational budgets.
  • Identifies labor requirements to achieve production objectives.
  • Works with marketing and sales teams to establish pricing strategies, promotional timelines, and product offerings.
  • Oversees quality inspections conducted by clients as part of the quality assurance team.
  • Contributes to the development and updates of the organization's operational manuals and policies.
  • Monitors external vendors involved in steel fabrication, coordinating schedules, inspections, and logistics.
  • Supervises the recruitment, training, and scheduling of staff, conducting performance reviews and managing disciplinary actions as necessary.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is required. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, showcasing strong managerial and supervisory capabilities, along with a thorough understanding of operations and production management. Proficiency in interpreting financial data to set production targets is essential.

Work Environment

This position operates in a high-pressure environment where meeting project deadlines is crucial. It involves extended periods of sitting and computer work, with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Candidates must be comfortable working around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
