Otak is seeking a Financial Project Specialist to join our team. This role is vital in collaborating with our Project Managers to ensure that each project achieves optimal financial results while adhering to company standards and contractual commitments.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication abilities, enabling them to swiftly identify complex challenges and effectively address them while juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facets of invoice creation, including preparation, documentation, reporting, collections support, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Generate invoices and accompanying documentation in line with established quality and productivity benchmarks, as well as contract stipulations for Project Manager approval.
  • Track labor and expense allocations, alongside job budget and cost reporting. Ensure that internal project accounting data is accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP and company policies.
  • Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating unresolved matters to the Project Accounting Manager or Project Managers as necessary.
  • Collaborate with, train, and mentor Project Managers and team members to provide guidance on Project Accounting and ensure adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in Project Accounting, Cost Accounting, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation, with a commitment to follow-through and a positive attitude.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software, especially Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems, is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with project structures in a client-consultant business environment is highly desirable.
