POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief Financial Officer at Lifetech Resources LLC is responsible for steering the financial direction of the organization and overseeing the Finance and Accounting Departments. A comprehensive understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and proficiency in risk management are critical for this role. The CFO will ensure adherence to accounting standards, optimize profitability, and mitigate financial risks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all financial operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, budget management, asset oversight, and other fiscal activities.
  • Advise the CEO on significant corporate strategies, objectives, and policies.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Formulate departmental budgets and financial reports.
  • Propose enhancements to existing corporate initiatives.
  • Generate reports that summarize and project the organization’s financial performance in terms of income, expenses, and earnings based on historical, current, and anticipated operations.
  • Oversee budget preparation, evaluate budget proposals, and compile necessary documentation and justifications.
  • Examine contracts and financial agreements entered into by the organization.
  • Analyze the general ledger to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assess customer pricing based on a thorough evaluation of customer lifetime profitability, potential relationships, and associated business risks.
  • Lead risk management initiatives for the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, ensuring timely performance evaluations, necessary disciplinary actions, and effective resolution of employee issues.
  • Establish and maintain financial controls in line with company policies and GAAP, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
  • Coordinate financial audits and tax preparations with external accountants.
  • Prepare and/or review reports required by regulatory bodies and generate regular and ad-hoc reports for management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Support sustainability initiatives within the organization.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge by participating in workshops, reviewing industry publications, and networking with professionals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior financial leadership role within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong grasp of cost accounting principles.
  • CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Thorough understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and federal and state financial regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
