Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Anesthesia Technician Expert to enhance our Anesthesia department. A Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) represents the pinnacle of veterinary technician practice in their specialized field. This role demands clinical proficiency, autonomy, and leadership within the anesthesia team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a board-certified anesthesiologist, managing a range of cases from ASA I to V(E), including critically ill patients. Responsibilities may encompass developing anesthesia protocols, employing various anesthetic techniques, and addressing any complications that arise.

Key Qualifications:
  • At least three years of clinical experience as a CVT/RVT/LVT
  • Credentialed as a VTS in Anesthesia & Analgesia by AVTAA (or willingness to pursue)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong analytical and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to think critically and operate effectively under pressure
  • Outstanding leadership qualities and a passion for mentoring fellow technicians
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and positive team environment
Compensation:
$35-42/hr, commensurate with experience and skill level.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the anesthesiologist to formulate anesthetic protocols
  • Administer both basic and advanced anesthesia and sedation techniques
  • Perform CPR and other emergency procedures as required
  • Work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of anesthesia equipment
  • Advocate for patient welfare and safety
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and transparency
  • Lead initiatives that promote professional development within the technician team
  • Assist in training staff on various anesthetic procedures
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities across the hospital
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities as needed
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned
