Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia

As a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS), you will operate at the pinnacle of your certification within your specialty. This role requires clinical excellence, independence, and leadership, working closely with a board-certified anesthesiologist to manage a range of cases from ASA I to V(E), including critically ill patients. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Collaborating to develop anesthesia protocols
- Administering a variety of anesthetic techniques
- Managing adverse events effectively
- At least three years of clinical experience as a CVT/RVT/LVT
- Credentialed as a VTS in Anesthesia & Analgesia by AVTAA (or willingness to pursue)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically and work autonomously under pressure
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities
- Interest in mentoring and training fellow technicians
$35-42/hr, commensurate with experience and skill level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing anesthetic protocols in partnership with the anesthesiologist
- Performing a range of anesthesia and sedation techniques
- Facilitating advanced CPR techniques
- Overseeing equipment maintenance and repairs
- Advocating for patient welfare and safety
- Encouraging a culture of learning and transparency
- Training staff in various anesthetic skills
- Cross-training in other hospital areas as needed
- Completing on-call duties as assigned
