KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The classification specification does not necessarily describe all the duties that might need to be performed. The summary provides examples of typical tasks performed in this classification.

> Collaborate with educators to discuss lesson strategies and learning activities to implement instructional programs and supports for all Emergent Bilinguals (English Learners)
> Provide individual or small group support to Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) to facilitate access to lesson content across various academic subjects as directed by the teacher (circulation, one-on-one in classroom, small group in classroom)
> Communicate with students in English and a designated second language to enhance instructional processes
> Work with a small group of Emergent Bilinguals during a core or elective course by integrating or extracting EBs to deliver targeted designated instruction.
> Analyze assessment results and other data to report on student progress regarding language performance as required; provide input and assist instructors with determining student advancement through established monitoring programs (Ellevation).
> Complete the certification requirements to proctor the yearly English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC)
> Assist with the school's implementation of the yearly English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC)
> Provide translation services during parent-teacher conferences or phone calls with limited or non-English speaking parents; translate or draft notes, letters, and other materials.
> Observe and report on student behavior in and out of the classroom and assist with enforcing the school's behavior policy
> Utilize various technology platforms and applications to enhance student learning
> Support students by being a positive role model, offering emotional support, patience, a friendly demeanor, and general guidance
> Ensure the health and safety of students by adhering to health and safety practices and procedures
> Participate in meetings, in-service training programs, and field trips as assigned
> Maintain regular attendance
> Perform other duties as assigned
> Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively as an educational team member

QUALIFICATIONS
In accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 and other related legislation, candidates for this classification must meet the following standards:
> Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent)

AND one of the following:
*Completion of at least two years of college (48 semester units or 90 quarter units), OR
*Attainment of an AA (or higher) degree OR
*Passage of the CA Spanish Language Instructional Assistance Test
> Bilingual in English and Spanish is required

As an ideal candidate, you
> possess strong skills in MS Word and Excel
> are able to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written forums.
> have excellent interpersonal skills
> have six months experience working with adolescents/children in a structured environment (experience working with adolescents/children requiring a specialized learning environment is preferred, and verifiable supervised experience as a volunteer in a school or related organizational activity may be substituted on an equal basis)
> have any other combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired skills, knowledge, or abilities may be considered, however, experience cannot substitute for the required minimum education and a willingness to work collaboratively as an educational team member
> are dependable, have a sense of humor, and a strong commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve
> will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
> will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)

The starting hourly rate range for this position is $22.77, based on education.
