Job Description

Cancer Care Northwest is a premier cancer center in the Inland Northwest, providing comprehensive care to patients with cancer and blood-related diseases.

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Account Specialist to join our billing/reimbursement team.

The Patient Account Specialist will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement of professional/hospital services provided by Cancer Care Northwest to third-party payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Organizations.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of insurance benefits, rules/regulations, and payer billing guidelines, as well as familiarity with payer websites and claim processing procedures.

The Patient Account Specialist will also be responsible for resolving claim denials, short-payments, credits, and outstanding claims, as well as answering incoming calls to assist patients with inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve claim denials and underpayments
  • Submit corrected claims and prepare grievances and appeals
  • Navigate payer websites and use delegated claim resolution tools
  • Review and respond to written correspondence
  • Ensure patient account data is accurate and communicate with team members to correct any variances

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of patient accounts experience or two years of medical business office experience

Benefits:

Cancer Care Northwest offers a competitive salary range of $20.14 - $28.20 DOE and a comprehensive benefits package.
