Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a driven Senior Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor to join our Real Estate Cost Management team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with clients in the development, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in both onsite and in-office activities.
  • Take full ownership of monthly cost reports for client presentations.
  • Provide cost-related insights to assist clients in decision-making.
  • Work closely with architects and general contractors to prepare cost estimates for additional project scopes.
  • Oversee the review, quantification, and negotiation of change orders throughout the construction process.
  • Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts.
  • Validate monthly payment applications from general contractors.
  • Review invoices from design consultants and client vendors.
  • Facilitate the preparation of purchase requisitions for client approval.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives.
  • Manage cost impacts, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs.
  • Ensure timely negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Compile as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction sector with a solid understanding of cost consultancy roles.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Strong ambition to deliver value and develop solutions.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with project teams.
  • Experience with client-specific systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • A passion for construction and a strong affinity for numerical analysis.
  • Robust analytical skills and proficiency in spreadsheet usage.
  • Experience with estimating software, such as on-screen takeoff or Revit, is preferred.
  • RICS accreditation or progress towards it is beneficial but not mandatory.
