Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a driven Senior Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor to join our Real Estate Cost Management team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with clients in various sectors, including development, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in both onsite and office-based activities.
  • Take full ownership of monthly cost reports for client presentations.
  • Provide comprehensive cost information to assist clients in financial decision-making.
  • Work closely with architects and general contractors to create cost estimates for additional client-requested scopes.
  • Oversee the review, quantification, and negotiation of change orders with general contractors throughout the construction process.
  • Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts.
  • Assess and validate monthly payment applications from general contractors.
  • Review invoices from design consultants and client vendors.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for client approval.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives.
  • Manage cost impacts, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs.
  • Ensure timely negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Compile as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction sector with a solid understanding of cost consultancy roles.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Tenacity and ambition to add value and develop solutions.
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships with project teams.
  • Experience with client-specific systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to multitask, prioritize, and collaborate effectively.
  • A genuine passion for construction and numerical analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience with estimating software, such as on-screen takeoff or Revit, is advantageous.
  • RICS accreditation or progress towards it is beneficial but not mandatory.
