We are seeking a Lead Environmental Consultant/NEPA Specialist to join our Environmental Services Group.

Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Environmental Consultant/NEPA Specialist will take on the role of environmental lead and project manager throughout various phases of project execution, which includes environmental planning, NEPA documentation, and permitting processes. Strong communication, technical writing, and project management capabilities are essential, along with the ability to mentor team members in their professional journeys.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the preparation and development of environmental documentation, resource assessments, and permit submissions.
  • Gather, interpret, and analyze relevant data.
  • Draft technical memoranda and reports.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in public information sessions and hearings.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance on environmental documentation.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff for their professional growth and success.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal, technical writing, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Possess knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferred) in Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Environmental Resource Management, Biology, or Botany.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and processes involving agencies such as FAA, NRCS, USACE, EPA, USFWS, NOAA, and FHWA.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of the NEPA process and environmental document preparation.
  • Proven ability to accurately analyze information, make informed decisions, lead projects to completion, and meet deadlines.
  • Well-organized team player, capable of coordinating with project team members to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position starts at $85,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to a competitive salary, J-U-B offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes insurance options, bonuses, and ownership opportunities for qualified employees, along with a flexible work schedule in a supportive, team-centered environment.
