Position Title: Crisis Worker
Reports To: Program Director
Position Summary:
The Crisis Worker operates under the guidance of Management to ensure compliance with all operational protocols and regulations. This role involves delivering direct support to clients, their families, and relevant stakeholders, while aiding clients in achieving their treatment objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Client Care- Engage with clients, dedicating a minimum of 75% of scheduled hours to direct interactions, whether in-person or via phone.
- Facilitate psycho-educational sessions, skills training, and supportive crisis counseling in various settings.
- Monitor medication as required, assisting the Residential Nurse with tasks such as checking vital signs.
- Perform specific residential crisis duties, including early morning routines, daily scheduling, meal preparation, and ensuring attendance at approved appointments.
- Handle telephone crisis duties by screening calls and providing appropriate counseling, assessments, and referrals to necessary services.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in community outreach and teamwork, offering referral and case management services to clients and families during interactions.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a focus in sociology, social work, psychology, or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with 12 semester credit hours in relevant social sciences.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in human services, including at least one year in mental health direct care.
Working Conditions:
This role is conducted in a residential or community environment. Employees may frequently need to stand, walk, lift, and reach. Willingness to travel as required for job-related duties is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
Additional Requirements:
Mobile units are required to drive within the service area, visiting clients in their homes and providing community support.

- Directly Supervises: None
- Collaborates with: Program Specialist, Mental Health Professional
