Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Specialist to join our Public Works team in Concord, MA. As an Administrative Specialist, you will provide administrative support to the Director and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general reception services, including responding to customer inquiries and providing information to the public.
  • Assist in the preparation of divisional budgets and maintain budget records.
  • Process and maintain administrative records, including invoices, purchase orders, and payroll records.
  • Assist in procurement activities, including soliciting quotes and compiling responses.
  • Perform special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested.
Requirements
  • High school education; additional education or training in office or business administration preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in general administrative or clerical work, preferably in a municipal setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices, and terminology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize time, work independently, and accomplish tasks despite frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions

The Administrative Specialist will work in a normal office environment with moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions. The position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain detailed records and statistics.
