SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the educational facility, ensuring that all areas are well-kept and functional. This role involves managing heating, cooling, and water systems to create a comfortable environment for students and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures security by locking all entrances and exits.
  • Cleans and sanitizes classrooms, hallways, staircases, and office spaces through sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks to uphold the building's condition.
  • Changes air conditioning filters as needed.
  • Operates and monitors heating and cooling systems.
  • Reports any significant repair needs to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Maintains outdoor areas by mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and keeping grounds tidy.
  • Assists in overseeing cleaning staff and grounds maintenance personnel.
  • Conducts minor repairs on electrical systems, plumbing, doors, locks, windows, and other fixtures.
  • Prepares school facilities for events and cleans up afterward, returning items to their designated storage.
  • Handles miscellaneous tasks such as stocking supplies and constructing small items for staff use.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with six months to one year of relevant experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written or verbal form. Capable of addressing problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

SKILL RELATED

Proficient in using basic hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, power saws, and drills. Should have a fundamental understanding of electrical fixtures, mechanical equipment, and motorized gardening tools.
