Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance District Supervisor to join our Facilities Engineering team at Kroger. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing maintenance technicians and skilled trades personnel, ensuring the development of their knowledge, skills, and abilities. You will oversee the work of contracted service providers, ensuring specifications are met, and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Establish and implement preventive maintenance tasks, procedures, schedules, and audits. Plan and organize the work of assigned technicians, ensuring efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Inspect and measure the effectiveness of repairs, troubleshoot equipment, and oversee necessary repairs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of parts, overseeing inventory best practices to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with store personnel, providing guidance on equipment usage and maintenance best practices to minimize repeat repair requests and overtime.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all department and company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Performance Management: Supervise and coach direct reports, completing performance reviews and providing feedback to support their growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, 10 years of proven experience in general maintenance or construction, and satisfactory overall performance.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use manufacturer interface software, experience reading engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Certifications and Licenses: EPA Type 2 Certification and a valid driver's license.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrated supervisory, mentoring, and training experience, ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary, and ability to travel independently (up to 25%).
