About the Role

AECOM is seeking an experienced GIS Specialist II to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a key member of our Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) team, you will work on a variety of utility siting and environmental impact assessment projects, utilizing your expertise in GIS, data management, and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead GIS projects of moderate to high complexity, including geodatabases and similar systems.
  • Maintain GIS standards, databases, reports, and mapping.
  • Create, organize, manipulate, and extract GIS and other data for reporting and analysis.
  • Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.
  • Work with the EPP team on utility siting and environmental impact assessment projects.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in GIS, GIS-related programming, utility siting, or a related field.
  • Experience working with electric utility, natural gas, and/or renewable energy clients.
  • Proficiency in ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise, and/or other relevant ArcGIS software.
  • Strong technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization, and cartographic design.
