Job Overview

General Summary:

The Banking Operations Support Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the coordination of operational functions within the organization, under the guidance of the Operations Manager. This position is essential for maintaining the daily operations of various processes related to Branch Operations. The specialist provides vital operational assistance to branch staff and acts as a key resource for the institution, ensuring effective communication and adherence to operational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a primary support contact for branch personnel, escalating operational issues to the Operations Support Manager and Operations Manager as necessary.
  2. Review system exceptions and quality control reports, ensuring appropriate follow-up with branch operations.
  3. Coordinate surprise cash audits and provide branch coverage as required.
  4. Become a Subject Matter Expert on the institution's product offerings, policies, and procedures.
  5. Assist branch and enterprise staff with inquiries regarding existing policies and procedures, including requests for modifications or clarifications.
  6. Support the analysis and completion of various operational audits.
  7. Prepare management reports and perform general ledger reconciliations to resolve suspense accounts.
  8. Track the resolution of audit exceptions.
  9. Contribute to special projects as needed.
  10. Assist in training operations staff as required.
  11. Communicate and enforce all new policies and procedures related to Branch Support and products.
  12. Provide system administration support for BPM, Integrated Teller, and Source Capture.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines associated with this role.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  1. 2 to 3 years of experience in banking operations or a related field.
  2. A two-year college degree is preferred.
  3. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Familiarity with branch functions and operations.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and poise.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  4. Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle confidential information discreetly.
  5. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  6. Flexibility to adapt to changing work assignments and priorities.
  7. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  9. Willingness to travel to various locations as required.

Work Schedule:

Consistent attendance and adherence to the assigned work schedule are essential. The schedule will typically consist of an 8-hour shift during business hours, with occasional overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks. The employee may occasionally need to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
