Welcome to The Kartrite Resort & Waterpark, a premier indoor waterpark destination in the Catskills. We're seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Lifeguard. As a key member of our aquatic team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests.

Job Summary

We're looking for a Lifeguard who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests. As a Lifeguard, you'll be responsible for supervising and providing surveillance of swimmers and guests during park hours, responding to emergency situations, and administering first aid as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide surveillance of swimmers and guests during park hours, special events, and training sessions.
  • Respond to emergency situations in the assigned zone.
  • Assist in communicating emergency situations outside of the assigned zone.
  • Administer and coordinate emergency first aid as necessary.
  • Enforce the rules and regulations of the waterpark.
  • Advise aquatics management of unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
  • Provide superior customer service to all guests by assisting them in a polite and expedient manner.
  • Assist younger guests with handing out height wristbands for water slides and proper fitting of lifejackets.
  • Must be open to new training and experiences.
  • Provide information on park and resort activities and policies.
  • Perform daily routine chores and maintenance of the waterpark to ensure a neat and orderly appearance.
  • Use appropriate PPE when handling, cleaning up, or disposing of biohazards in the water or on the pool deck.
  • Advises Aquatics management of unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
  • Perform within Ellis and Associates Certification standards.
  • Must be well-groomed, with a nametag on at all times while working on the property.
  • Must follow all uniform guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.
Qualifications
  • No experience required; training provided.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Ability and willingness to achieve Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training.
  • Must be flexible regarding scheduling, as it is based on business demands that include weekend and vacation availability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Physical Requirements
  • Swim 50 yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the bottom of the pool.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of prolonged exposure to hot and humid environments.
  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
  • Minimum of 20/20 corrected or uncorrected vision and no permanent eye abnormalities.
