Lead CNC Machinist - Precision Engineering

A prominent global manufacturing firm is seeking an experienced Lead CNC Machinist to enhance its manufacturing capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings to set up CNC workstations (3-5 axis) for the fabrication of parts, including programming CNC machinery.
  • Establish CNC machine setups, troubleshoot operational issues, and optimize tools, materials, and CNC programs.
  • Conduct CNC machine setups that involve adjusting speeds and feeds, modifying programs for peak performance, and making essential adjustments to tooling and process parameters during initial runs.
  • Adapt holding fixtures as necessary for machining tasks.
  • Provide mentorship to junior machinists, addressing work-related inquiries, resolving operational challenges, and reviewing completed tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machinist or Engineer with CNC machinery.
  • Proficient in CNC programming, with a preference for experience in 3 to 5 axis machining centers.
  • Experience in loading existing programs into CNC machines.
  • Comprehensive experience in machining various metals, including hardened steels, low carbon soft steel, brass, and aluminum, with additional expertise in composites and plastics being advantageous.
  • Familiarity with machining centers, horizontal milling machines, and drilling equipment.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
