Position Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II in the sleep center will perform all types of pediatric sleep apnea testing within the scope of practice.

Conducts baseline oxygen studies, PAP, NPPV, Tracheostomy- Home Ventilator initiation and titration studies.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II, under direct supervision, conducts patient assessments, assists with the development of the plan of care, provides and evaluates general, basic patient care with assistance to an assigned group of patients according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs.

Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years acute and critical care experience as an RCP in pediatric preferred.
  • Experienced in conducting sleep studies required.
  • Broad knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures.
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
  • Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care.
  • RCP license from the state of California.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC.
  • Sleep Disorder Specialist or Registered Polysomnography Technician Certification preferred by NBRC.
Pay Scale Information:

$68,432.00-$117,926.00

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
