Position Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, provides and evaluates general, basic patient care with assistance to an assigned group of patients according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs.

Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Follows applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years' experience as an RCP.
  • Broad knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment and clinical care policies and procedures.
  • Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care maintains a calm demeanor and assists in crises and emergencies; prioritize patient care tasks; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
  • Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care.
  • RCP license from the state of California.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support required.

USD $46.73

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
