Overview

At Children's Hospital Los Angeles, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in our team's efforts to deliver high-quality patient care.

Position Summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, and provides and evaluates general, basic patient care with assistance to an assigned group of patients according to patient-specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other healthcare team members in the delivery of care. Follows applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience as an RCP
  • Broad knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment and clinical care policies and procedures
  • Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care, maintain a calm demeanor, and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize patient care tasks; communicate tactfully, professionally, and effectively, verbally and in writing
Education/Licensure/Certifications
  • Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care
  • RCP license from the state of California
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support required
Pay Scale Information

USD $46.73

CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry.
