Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Healthcare Collections Coordinator is responsible for engaging with and recovering overdue accounts receivables, addressing denials, and managing appeals related to claims from various insurance providers. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service while upholding the mission and values of Gratius Enterprises Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage accounts that are over 90 days past due.
  • Examine Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and related correspondence to pinpoint zero pays and underpayments.
  • Proactively follow up with healthcare insurance providers regarding pending medical claims and appeals.
  • Review insurance documentation, authorizations, and patient medical records.
  • Confirm patient insurance eligibility.
  • Maintain clear communication with the insurance verification team, billing department, and administrative support staff.
  • Execute collection efforts and resolve complex account issues.
  • Provide necessary documentation to support collection activities.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrate persistence while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, Associate's Degree, or higher, with specialized training in medical collections preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in medical claims resolution and management is required.
  • At least one year of experience collecting from government payers (Medicare & Medi-Cal) is preferred.
  • Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve payer denials.
  • Capability to prioritize accounts receivable based on urgency.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with a diverse range of patients, colleagues, and vendors.

Physical Requirements:

Expected Work Hours:

This is a full-time position, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday. Specific hours may vary based on operational needs.
