Job Overview

As a vital member of the Army National Guard, the role of a Medical Equipment Repairer is crucial in ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to reliable and efficient medical devices. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment.
  • Assess power and spatial requirements for the installation of medical equipment.
  • Install new medical devices and ensure they are operational.
  • Compile and submit detailed reports regarding equipment status and repairs.

Skills and Knowledge Development
  • Proficiency in using electrical and electronic testing instruments.
  • Hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.

Essential Skills
  • Background in working with electronic systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.

Through comprehensive training, you will acquire the necessary skills to pursue a rewarding civilian career in electronic instrument repair across various sectors, including manufacturing, medical research, and aerospace. With further education, you may qualify for certifications such as the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians.

Compensation and Benefits
Instead of incurring costs for training, you will receive a salary while you learn. The Army National Guard offers a structured training program that includes:
  • 10 weeks of Basic Training focused on foundational Soldiering skills.
  • 41 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, emphasizing practical repair techniques.
