Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Extrusion Technician is responsible for the extrusion of various types of tubing, rods, shapes, and profiles utilized in the production of finished medical devices. This role requires the ability to adjust extrusion lines to meet specific size requirements, resize jobs, and operate extrusion machinery and associated equipment safely and effectively. Technicians are expected to perform related tasks, including finished part inspection, material identification and handling, data collection, and compliance with documentation and traceability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extrude a variety of tubing, rods, shapes, and profiles essential for the manufacturing of medical devices.
  • Adjust extrusion lines to meet size specifications, resize jobs, and operate machinery in accordance with cGMP, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct finished part inspections, identify and handle materials, and collect data while adhering to documentation and traceability requirements.
  • Higher-level technicians may mentor and train junior staff as needed and assist maintenance with basic tasks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; an Associate's or technical degree is preferred.
  • 0-0.5 years of relevant experience or completion of PBS requirements with successful assessment at the appropriate level.
  • Willingness to work non-standard schedules as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry or professional certification is preferred.

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Frequent use of hands for handling or feeling and reaching with hands and arms is necessary. Occasionally, employees must stand and walk, and may need to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
