Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our Lehigh Valley Division in Allentown, PA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment repairs at Lehigh Valley Recycling and assist at the Allentown shop during downtime.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, construction equipment, and auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts to execute repairs.
  • Adhere to manufacturer warranty policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and resolve problems independently, ensuring safe and effective solutions.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
  • Participate in special projects and other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferrable experience.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment.
  • Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical data via instruction manuals.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial Driving License (A or B).
  • PA State Inspection License (highly desired).
  • ASEs.
  • Own tools.
