The Role

We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities and equipment team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, minimizing equipment downtime, and optimizing maintenance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Maintenance Support: Oversee all maintenance activities for factory equipment and general facility maintenance, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Supervise Maintenance Technicians: Coach and supervise maintenance technicians to execute maintenance tasks in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement Safety Protocols: Develop and maintain a safe work environment for all employees, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Plan and Schedule Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance work to minimize equipment downtime and optimize production schedules.
  • Design Preventative Maintenance Plans: Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance solutions to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage Spare Parts and Inventory: Oversee storeroom strategy and spare parts management, monitoring and reordering as needed.
  • Collaborate with Production Leadership: Partner with production leadership to help equipment operators develop autonomous maintenance capabilities.
  • Establish SOPs: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all maintenance-related activities.
  • Oversee Long-Term Planning and Budgeting: Coordinate long-term planning and budgeting for maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
  • Build Relationships with OEMs: Establish and maintain close relationships with original equipment manufacturers, collaborating with their internal engineering and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Cultivate a Positive Work Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive work culture within the maintenance department, promoting employee engagement and Spot & Tango's values.
  • Coordinate Shift Patterns and Maintenance Scheduling: Help coordinate shift patterns and maintenance scheduling to ensure plant production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Understanding of reliability principles (e.g., MTBF, RCA).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., ERP, MRP).
  • Experience hiring maintenance technicians preferred.
  • Experience working with freeze driers and/or refrigeration equipment a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Dog lovers a plus.
