Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain accurate medical records under the supervision of a licensed nurse or the Director of Nursing.
- Medication Verification: Verify the identity of the resident receiving medication and record the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
- Assessment and Documentation: Assess residents for potential medication side effects and document any unexpected reactions.
- Medication Inventory Management: Receive and restock medication supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with families, residents, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Education and Certification: High School Diploma or GED, and certification as a Medication Aide in the State of Tennessee.
- Experience: Previous experience in senior resident services, healthcare, or customer service is preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning, and stretching. The ability to stand and walk for extended periods is essential.
