Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Nuclear Engineer to join our team at the United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our Nuclear Refueling Engineering Division, you will be responsible for providing technical supervision and coordination of all activities integral to nuclear facilities and nuclear engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical supervision and coordination of all activities integral to nuclear facilities and nuclear engineering.
  • Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and practices of nuclear engineering associated with diverse aspects of nuclear propulsion plants.
  • Review work submitted by subordinates for accuracy and completion.
  • Analyze reactor servicing needs to determine necessary changes for nuclear facilities or operational procedures.
  • Plan work sequences, daily schedules, or tests to execute assigned duties.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness and participation in emergency response for exercises or actual events.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Providing technical supervision and coordination of all activities integral to nuclear facilities and nuclear engineering.
  • Applying advanced theories, concepts, principles, and practices of nuclear engineering associated with diverse aspects of nuclear propulsion plants.
  • Reviewing work submitted by subordinates for accuracy and completion.
  • Analyzing reactor servicing needs to determine necessary changes for nuclear facilities or operational procedures.
  • Planning work sequences, daily schedules, or tests to execute assigned duties.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of emergency preparedness and participation in emergency response for exercises or actual events.
Qualifications

You must possess a degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Alternatively, you may have a combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering and a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is also acceptable.
