About the Job

International Marine and Industrial Applicators (IMIA) is seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our structural integrity team, you will be responsible for managing our welding program and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the welding program to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain welding procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Oversee the PQR (Procedure Qualification Record) process to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Manage assigned personnel to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  • Review work specifications and related drawings to determine new weld process needs.
  • Review internal processes and reference to work requirements to ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Determine OQE (Owner's Quality Engineer) requirements based on fabrication requirements.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage budgets and determine corrective course of action for negative trends.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or 15 years of experience in ship repair.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience with direct supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions

Most work performed under pressured, fast-paced conditions; frequently requires overtime.
