Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Nuclear Engineer to join our team at the United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in the maintenance, design, and testing of nuclear power plants for submarines and aircraft carriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the maintenance, design, and testing of nuclear power plants
  • Direct the efforts of a large staff of support personnel, including Nuclear Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Health Physicists
  • Develop and implement plans for ship availabilities and certification of nuclear work
  • Participate in the development of the Shipyard training program
  • Ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies
Requirements
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service or private/public sector
  • Experience in managerial, administrative, and technical areas, including nuclear reactor plant test programs, financial analysis, and cost control
  • Experience providing technical direction in Nuclear Engineering and other engineering work
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and revising technical manuals
  • Experience directing technical and administrative efforts in a leadership role
Education
  • Successful completion of a professional engineering degree from an accredited program
  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering
