Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiological Engineering Division Head to join our team at the United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the Radiological Engineering Division and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of nuclear propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and distribute workload among subordinates
  • Review and take action on serious disciplinary problems involving personnel
  • Exercise technical control over all aspects of radiological work performed on nuclear propulsion systems and shipyard radiological support systems and facilities
  • Maintain oversight of Naval Sea Systems Command, Department of Transportation, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and shipyard instructions regarding the transportation and disposal of radioactive and special nuclear material
  • Support NAVSEA Business Policy learning and performance initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in radiological engineering and experience in a leadership position. You must also be able to interpret and apply relevant regulations, laws, and directives.

Additionally, you will need to have experience functioning as the radiological control engineering authority in a shipyard setting and providing technical guidance and administrative support to effect an efficient radiological controls program.

Applicants must meet the basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management, which include a professional engineering degree or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
