Position Overview


The Audiovisual Event Operations Lead is accountable for the intermediate-level setup and management of audiovisual systems for events ranging from small gatherings to large-scale functions within a hospitality setting, ensuring utmost client satisfaction.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.


Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management
  • Oversee the precise and timely installation, operation, and dismantling of intermediate audiovisual equipment.
  • Diagnose technical issues and implement swift resolutions as they arise.
  • Adhere to all company security and safety protocols.
  • Ensure the protection of equipment from theft and damage during use.

Client Relations
  • Deliver exceptional service, aiming to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.
  • Act as a leader, mentor, and coach for fellow technicians, embodying Encore's commitment to delivering world-class service.
  • Maintain strong communication and positive relationships with all clients.
  • Engage with guests on-site to confirm their requirements are met and that the equipment setup is functioning correctly.
  • Monitor events and check in with clients throughout the day.
  • Understand and nurture the relationship between the hotel and clients.

Technical Expertise

Possess a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the role, demonstrating advanced operational skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues. Anticipate potential equipment challenges and adapt proactively.


Systems Proficiency
  • Comprehend company processes, adhere to procedures, and accurately complete systems entries and documentation.
  • Utilize equipment sheets to identify scheduled equipment for setup and breakdown.
  • Collaborate with other staff and external vendors regarding equipment needs.
  • Enhance revenue through effective floor up-selling techniques.
  • Assist clients in finalizing invoices.
  • As required, engage with Encore systems and applications.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in customer service or hospitality is advantageous.
  • 2-3+ years of audiovisual experience is essential.
  • Internal candidates must hold Technical 1-Star Certification prior to application. External candidates are expected to obtain Technical 1-Star Certification within 60 days of employment.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for positions that may involve operating company vehicles.
  • Additional DOT requirements may apply if relevant.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The role is set within a hotel environment, with moderate exposure to outdoor conditions and elements such as dirt and dust. Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy.

Team members will operate high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components, and may work at heights using lifts and ladders. Flexibility in working hours is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with adherence to appearance standards as defined by Encore.

Team members must meet specified physical criteria to effectively perform essential job functions.

  • Occasionally: Peripheral Vision, Carrying over 100 lbs., Pushing/Pulling over 100 lbs.
  • Frequently: Color Vision, Depth Perception, Lifting 16-50 lbs., Carrying 16-50 lbs., Pushing/Pulling 16-50 lbs.

Time Allocation:

  • 0-1 hours/day: Climbing
  • 2-3 hours/day: Sitting, Stooping, Crawling, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching (above head)
